Our new kitchen garden takes shape
With a small grant from our Local Initiatives Fund Finsbury Park Trust was able to set up a herb garden this year, making the most of our very sunny and sheltered courtyard in the middle of Finsbury Park.
‘It was a great chance to bring a bit of greenery into this heavily built-up area,’ says Felicity Ford, Executive Director of the Trust. ‘The funding was the kick-start we needed and we were delighted to be able to add in some tomato plants and flowers to our original plan. We’ve been able to collect tomatoes and dry herbs all summer and the whole project has given us an incentive to clear away some accumulated rubbish and think better how to use the space.’
